NEO AND ALPHA SMART INFORMATION
I have had many positive experiences with Alpha Smart 2000, 3000 and the NEO. I hope that some of you might add to this information.
Things I like about the NEO:
- Eight different students can use one NEO
- There are 387 lessons for elementary, middle and high school
- Lessons may be edited or created
- The lessons may be used for whole class work
- Use lessons to collaborate with staff and send to a friend
- Copy and paste lessons and print them out for students to have as visual aid
- Download the lessons to use as a reference.
- Built in KEYWORDS TYPING PROGRAM
- The students may use a personal password
- The NEO keyboard commands are built in for quick lookups
- CoWriter is a word prediction program that may be added
- CoWriter has vocabulary topics that may be added to your NEO
- Portability and durability
- Excellent technical support
- The manual is easy to understand
- Battery life is 700 hours
- Only 3 double AA batteries
Things I do not like about the NEO: - You can only add eight lessons at a time to the device,
- Alpha Smart 3000 with Co Writer does not include lessons
- The applet downloads are easy but they are time consuming
- I did not learn that much from the webinars
- The USB cables are often misplaced. Buy three cables.
Other: Different companies have software word processing programs that are used with computers. Ask me about these programs if you are interested.
