Reasons for Granting Permits:

Child Care - A permit may be granted for a student in grades K-6 only who is cared for by someone other than the parent/guardian or a Child Care Center in a district different than the student's place of residence, if the parent/guardian is employed or if both parents/guardians are employed. The parent/guardian will be required to obtain a document on letterhead stationary that includes the following:
a. Employer's signature.
b. Employment verification information to verify that the individual is working during the child's school hours.
c. Verification that he/she is currently employed on a full-time regular basis for not less than 30 hours per week.
Residence - A permit may be granted if:
a. A student moves from one school district to another during the second school semester and wishes to remain enrolled at the school he/she attended during the first semester to complete the school year.
b. A twelfth (12th) grade student who moves from one school district to another and wishes to attend the same school he/she attended as a junior.
Anticipated Move - A permit may be granted if the parent/guardian of a student certifies that a residence is being built in another district or attendance zone; or that money is in escrow for the purpose of securing a residence in another district which the family will occupy within the semester in which the permit is requested. Parents shall furnish documentation, e.g., escrow papers, utility receipts or other acceptable evidence.

Social Factors - A permit may be considered for a student because of psychological social problems, medical problems, parole regulations, etc. Acceptable evidence must be presented to the district personnel which verifies the student's situation.

Employment - A permit may be granted to a student to attend school in another district if one or both of the parents or legal guardians of the pupil is employed within the boundaries of that school district. The parent/guardian will be required to obtain a document on letterhead stationary that includes the following:
a. Employer's signature.
b. Employment verification information to verify that the individual is working during the child's school hours.
c. Verification that he/she is currently employed on a full-time regular basis for not less than 30 hours per week.
