We have a CLASS parent meeting tomorrow night at 6 in the Library. All parents are welcome, so I would appreciate it if you would encourage your students to bring their parents. IF YOU TEACH JUNIORS, please encourage them in particular to bring their parents to attend tomorrow night’s CLASS parent meeting. I will be sharing some information about the Early Assessment Program (EAP) and how it is connected with the new SBAC tests. As you know, if the students participate in the EAP and earn a sufficient score, they will place directly into college-level courses at all CSU schools and most community colleges.
In Ms. Vests' class her special needs students have taken to using iPads and AppleTV like real pros. It's really impressive with how they are using this tech to interact with the lesson, Ms. Vest, and each other.
Next Thursday (4/30) after school, we will have 2 buses going to the National College Fair in Pasadena. Biggest college fair in the country (more than 300 colleges and universities). Free event! Free transportation! Depart NHS @ 4:00pm / Return NHS @ 8:45pm. Please send students to me in room 621 to pick up a permission form ASAP.
Please join me in congratulating all of our Lancer Dancers on a job well done, and big thanks to Yolanda Rubio-Soto for her leadership. Thanks also to Chef Tracy’s Culinary Arts students for providing delicious intermission snacks! If you follow me on Twitter (@principallancer), you can find some exclusive video of tonight’s performances that were streamed live using the Periscope app!
Please join us for our monthly parent meeting! We will be sharing information about our PLTW Biomedical Science program, SBAC testing and the Early Assessment Program for college readiness, and our recent WASC visit. PTSA will also be sharing valuable information about how to be more involved at NHS. Refreshments will be provided, and live Spanish translation will be available. Please join us!
