I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Right before the break, I had the opportunity to attend our Bobcat Academy’s “Giving Thanks” potluck, and I was so touched to hear the voices of our children who shared what they were thankful for.  While there were a few who were thankful for money or other material things, there were many who were thankful for their parents and family.  As much as we parents try to give our children “stuff,” the truth is that our love and attention is so much more valuable and appreciated by our children.

As we head toward the holiday season in which giving is to be expected, perhaps the best gift to your child will be the time you spend with him/her.  The two weeks that we have off for the Winter Break is a great time slow down and connect with your child—play board games, bake cookies (that you purchased from our fundraiser), read holiday stories, wrap gifts, volunteer time together— whatever it is you do; the time you spend together will create great memories for years to come… and that’s a wonderful gift!

On Friday, December 16th there is a minimum day to kick off our Winter Break.  There is no school from Monday, December 19th to Monday, January 2nd.  School will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.  Please plan your family vacations within the two weeks so that your child does not miss any school days.
