Character education begins at home. Parents need to help build character; it doesn’t just happen. Encouraging young people to think independently and to do right are the foundations of character education for parents.
CHARACTER OF THE MONTH: In April, our school will focus on RESPECT. RESPECT means that our students treat others how they want to be treated, and this includes how we treat our environment! Talk to your child about being a good CITIZEN!
The core universal values we use are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Over the summer, please encourage your child to demonstrate these character traits and follow the T.E.A.M. approach: teach, enforce, advocate, and model the Six Pillars.
Teaching, enforcing, advocating, and modeling the Six Pillars of Character daily will set behavior boundaries that will shape the character of your child - and yourself!
