Good evening, Norwalk-La Mirada Community:
As of 5:00 p.m. this evening, Norwalk-La Mirada schools will be open as scheduled tomorrow. The District will continue to monitor the weather throughout the evening and overnight, and will make any decision with the safety of our students and staff as the top priority.
I would like to thank our School Safety Department and support staff who have been monitoring school facilities throughout the day to canvas school sites districtwide to identify potential damage and hazards. We were proactive and took the necessary steps to prepare for this tropical storm. Our School Safety Department will continue to patrol, monitor, and report. Lastly, as of now we have received no report of any damage to our sites from the earthquake that occurred earlier today at 2:41 p.m.
Should there be any significant developments or changes that could impact the operation of any of our school sites, we will send additional updates.

Thank you for your patience and continued partnership.
