NLMUSD will offer the School-Day SAT® to all Juniors on March 6, 2019

We are excited to offer the School-Day SAT® at NLMUSD high schools on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.  All 11th grade students will have the opportunity to test during school hours. Offering the test during school hours allows students to participate without changing their routines or missing commitments such as work or extracurricular activities and minimizes test-day stress because students are in a familiar location with familiar staff.

NLMUSD will be covering the cost of the exam for all 11th grade students.  We would normally offer this exam during the Fall of the senior year of high school. However, in reviewing the best time for our students to take the SAT®, we feel that Spring of the Junior year is the optimal time. The SAT® is used by colleges and universities as part of their undergraduate admission process. The SAT® is a curriculum-based, high-stakes test that will provide an important measure of academic achievement as students prepare for post-secondary college and career opportunities.

All students are expected to be at school on March 6, 2019 no later than 7:55 am. Breakfast will be available prior to school beginning at 7:15 am. Our students will be provided with a snack during the exam. Lunch will be available after the exam at 1:00 pm. Students will be released at 1:00 pm.  Students in grades 9, 10 and 12 will be on a minimum day schedule, first period beginning at 7:55 am and 6th period ends at 1:00 pm. There will be no zero period classes held on March 6, 2019.

Students and parents who have questions about the School-Day SAT® should contact his/her counselor at their respective high school.
