Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to participate in the online-based credit recovery program to maintain progress toward meeting graduation requirements throughout the school year. Due to the online nature of the program, students have the ability to access the program at the school site and at home.
Our online platform, Edgenuity, is used for credit recovery and/or grade improvement (D’s and F’s). Several sessions of credit recovery are offered throughout the school year in which students are expected to work independently outside of the school day. An instructor is assigned at each comprehensive school site to monitor students’ progress and provide support. In addition to the independent sessions, each school site may have a physical credit recovery class students can enroll into for more direct support.
Students must complete all assigned work prior to the end of the respective Edgenuity session or semester class. Extensions will not be granted and grades will not be assigned for incomplete courses. Grading is computed by course completion and the level of mastery of completed work. Students must complete 100% of the online course within the start and end dates. No exceptions.
Credit recovery courses may be disabled for students who have been inactive for 15 consecutive days or who do not log-in to their class within 5 days of the first day of the session. Registration for the credit recovery classes is facilitated by the student’s counselor at the home school.
Questions regarding participation in the credit recovery program can be directed to the individual school sites or through the Alternative Programs & Services department.
