Welcome to the NLMUSD Alternative Education Department

The goal of the Alternative Education Department is to provide a variety of programs to support students' diverse learning needs and interests. The programs we provide are intended to foster students' engagement in their education as well as to promote and enhance student achievement. The NLMUSD Alternative Education programs deliver differentiation from traditional education in philosophy and instructional strategies as well as in the structure, setting, size, and scheduling we are able to provide to students. Beyond academics, our programs offer socio-emotional support to ensure we meet the needs of all students on their respective path to success.
