Family Meal Resources

May 22, 2020

Dear Parents,
The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District Nutrition Services Department is committed to the children and families in our community. Our last day of drive up/pick up bulk meal distribution at Los Coyotes Middle School in La Mirada and Central Kitchen in Norwalk will be Wednesday, May 27th.

Road Map to Recovery - Summer School Meal Pick Up:

We will re-start distributing meals, Monday through Thursday beginning on Monday, June 8th until the end of Summer School on Thursday, July 16th.

NLMUSD children ages 1-18 years of age will receive 1 breakfast and 1 lunch daily on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Thursdays children will receive 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches. Meals will not be distributed on Fridays.

To ensure the integrity of the food program, we ask that you be prepared to provide your child’s iReady ID number, student ID number, or first and last name if the child is not of school age just yet.

If you need Lactaid or Soy Milk, there is a handout on our website that you may print and bring. We will do our best to accommodate.

Meals will be served (walk up only) 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the following locations only: Norwalk High School, Los Alisos Middle school, Sanchez Elementary, Los Coyotes Middle School, Hutchinson Middle School and Foster Road Elementary.

  • Masks must be worn by parents, children and staff.
  • Maintain 6 feet distance between you and everyone.
  • If you are sick, sneezing, coughing or have a temperature, please stay home.
  • The NLMUSD is not responsible for food once it leaves the property.

Thank you for patience as we go through this together and adjust to a new distribution method.
Updates will be posted at www.yourchew.com

Sincerely,
Anna M. Apoian
Nutrition Services Director
