Hello, my name is Elizabeth Martinez. Not only am I new to the ARCC Center Stage program, but I am also new to the State of California! I am originally from Chicago, IL where I attended Lewis University, majoring in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education, and a minor in Psychology. I am a former Golden Apple Scholar of Illinois. As a scholar I attended summer workshops and completed educator related courses. Through the scholarship program, I also had the opportunity to student teach at some of the lowest income schools in the City of Chicago. In addition, I also volunteered at New Harvest Chicago teaching Sunday School for the past 7 years.
I have many years of experience working with children, and I am continuing to grow and learn as an educator each day. Everyday is different. Every child is different. I believe as educators and parents, it is our duty to embrace those differences and uncover the wonderful and special qualities each child possess. Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new and to have fun in the process.
I am thrilled to be part of the ARCC program and I am proud of everything it stands for. I look forward to what the rest of the school year has to offer!
