Developer Fees
In 1998, the California Legislature passed Senate Bill 50, which authorizes school districts to levy developer fees in order to finance the construction or reconstruction of school facilities required to meet the educational demands created by new construction within their respective districts.
Developer fees are levied by the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District pursuant to the provisions of Section 17620 of the Education Code, as well as Sections 65995 and 66001 of the Government Code. Any residential or commercial/industrial construction project within the School District boundary may be subject to the fee.
Annual Report
Government Code 66006 and 66001 mandates districts to complete an Annual and Five-Year Reportable Fees Report and make it available to the public for review. Below is the most current report:
