The award-winning Norwalk-La Mirada Counseling Program aligns with the ASCA National Model framework, which reinforces the school counselor’s role in providing leadership, advocacy and collaboration with educational partners to promote systemic change.

NLMUSD school counselors develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive school counseling programs that are data-driven, delivered to all students systematically and strive to help every student reach their highest potential.

Internship Program Requirements

- Must currently be enrolled in a Master's Degree program in School Counseling

- Must be eligible to complete practicum or fieldwork hours for the PPS- School Counseling Credential during the 2025-2026 school year
