Adult Transition
VISION AND MISSION
Our focus at the Adult Transition Program (ATP) is to support all students in their efforts to become as independent as possible in their adult lives by providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment, with a focus on functional academics, community-based instruction, employment preparation, independent living skills, life skills, accountability, and self-advocacy.
The Adult Transition Program is designed for students ages 18-22, who have completed the high school course of study. Our ATP provides a safe environment for students to improve, grow, and develop essential skills needed to be productive citizens.
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
ATP has 5 teachers which allows for small group, leveled instruction and life skills application in real world settings.
CLASSROOM: Students are provided individualized instruction to help them reach their goals along with functional skills that they can generalize when they are in the community.
COMMUNITY/WORK PLACEMENTS: With the help of job coaches, ATP partners with local businesses to provide vocational opportunities for students, including volunteer work placements and paid work placements, depending on ability and tolerance level.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE:ATP partners with local community colleges to allow students to access adaptive sports classes, job skills, life skills courses, mobility training, and self-advocacy.
